As COVID hit and people began working remotely, PepsiCo wanted to engage their people in these challenging circumstances with an ‘un-corporate’ idea that would make staff smile and feel supported, connected, and motivated wherever they were.

In ‘dictionary-like’ style, we created our own witty language playing on commonly known ‘work lingo’ - the ‘Work from home’ lingo.

Each week, we released a new creative E-newsletter through PepsiCo’s internal communication platform, Smiles2Go, with an original ‘portmanteau’ word, along with a definition related to the theme of that week. Each email had a different objective, such as improving mental and physical wellbeing, training, motivation and advice for Covid-19 related problems.

  • 88% of employees reported feeling happy throughout the campaign.

  • Email engagement levels remained as high, or higher than they were before the crisis.

  • PepsiCo renewed the campaign for 10 further weeks.
